The setting is the winter of 1992, october to be more precise. 3 skaters since '87 got into the punk music by listening to bands like OP. IV, Odd Man Out, Mc Rad and Descendents. Together they decided to start a skatecore band, but not completely with the lineup we are familiar with. Nikola Sarcevic was doing the things he knows best, singing and playing the bass, but Mathias Färm was battering the drums. Erik Olsson was also back then playing the guitar. Nikola and Mathias were before Millencolin (name originally from a skatetrick called melancholy) playing in a band called Seigmenn (not the norwegian band Seigmen mind you), but left the band to form Millencolin. Late october, the 'Kung Pung' drummer Fredrik Larson inherited the drumstick from Mathias, and Mathias picked up a pick and started playing the second guitar. Erik Olsson left the swedish band Charles Hårfager (now just Charles) to play with the guys. The line-up was now complete, time to make songs! Oh, by the way, what happened to the two bands the Millencolin members played in? Well, 'Charles' and 'Kung Punk' broke up early 93. Charles Hårfager had Erik with them and released one more singel (after their first 7"), but then quit. The other guys in Charles recorded two cd's with Kamel Record, didn't want to play anymore, and split up.

The same summer they made the songs they were so eager to make, and created a ten song tape demo called Melack. (Two words melted together, me and lack) These songs can only be found on different swedish compilations. This is when they got to know Dan Swanö in Unisound Studio (The same studio the band is using now) The newly started Burning Heart records wanted to release them, and they let them do so. The 'Use your nose'-singel was released september 1993, and after playing some gigs, they released 'Skauch' (part Millencolin [II], part cover songs [VI]) in may 94. In august they went back and recorded the first fullength album, 'Tiny Tunes' (Later changed name to Same Old Tunes because of some legal hasle because of the cover and name. They got Warner Bros on their backs). The gigs went on, and the band played over 100 shows only in Sweden. Da Strike went to number 9 on the swedish bilboards, and the record was a huge success, at least for a starting band like M*C.

In 1995 Burning Heart and Unisound Studios moved to Örebro (their hometown) and they started recording their second album, called 'Life On A Plate'. The recording was done around august, and the released it in October. Gigs went on, and they did around 23-24 festival. Kalvoja (Norway), Roskilde (Denmark) to name two. Now it was time to conquer the rest of the world, not just Scandinavia. They went to Germany first, then Switzerland, France, and England. Late '95 Brett (Bad Religion) from Epitaph contacted them and wanted a US release for Life On A Plate. They released the album in march '96.

In 1997, April 21, the third album was released, called For Monkeys (name taken from the intern joke in calling eachother monkeys. The original title was Four Monkeys, but someone suggested FOR Monkeys, and the band agreed upon this. A single with three songs ('Lozin' Must', 'Vixen', 'Israelites' (Cover)) came out in the end of March. For Monkeys was one of the last recordings made in Unisound Studios. Dan Swanö sold most parts of the studio to Mathias and Miezsco, who allready had some studio equiptments. The studio, 'The Punk Palace', changed the name to Sound Lab studios. Around tour in in May, started with a European tour, then the Warped tour in the US/Canada and Europe. Australia and Japan was up for grabs in October. The band is also currently touring, check the tourdates and see if they are coming to a town near you!!!!
